The school leader must have highly advanced skills to analyze and precisely explain the advantages and disadvantages in regards to diverse dimensions of pedagogy, and to take initiative to resolve the problems of the school and the community by collaborating with colleagues and citizens. The graduate students learn the most up-to-date knowledge on school management, designing a class, and supporting children at school. The curriculum also deals with the actual needs of today’s schools, especially those in the San’in region (Shimane and Tottori Prefectures) as follows:* Managing the class and the school, based on the perspectives of special needs education* Education in remote areas* Evidence-based class improvement* Teacher training by utilizing the rubric for professional development * Practical use of ICT for distance learning<Requirements for admission>All applicants must have at least one kind of teacher’s certificate from Japan.School ManagementDesigning ClassesThe Program of Clinical PsychologyThis program aims to develop clinical psychology experts with the advanced abilities of making psychological assessments, conducting psychological interviews, and providing the community support. Throughout the curriculum, students can acquire a high level of professionalism and practical capabilities as clinical psychologists; meanwhile, they learn to help schoolchildren with difficulties adjust to the social environment by collaborating with colleagues and relevant organs.Graduates of this program seek careers as school counselors, therapists, and other specialists in the field of psychology.
