4. Teaching subjects:
(1) Interdisciplinary Faculty of Science and Engineering: approximately two subjects of [Building Structural Experiments, Building Materials, Structural Mechanics, Building Structural and Environmental Fieldwork], in addition omnibus subjects such as Introduction to Architectural Design, seminars, graduation research instruction, etc.
(2) Graduate School of Natural Science and Technology: Building Structure-Living Environment Practical (partial responsibility), etc.

7. Probation: Six months from starting date of employment
 
8. Compensation:
(1) Based on the “Salary Regulations for National University Corporation Shimane University Academic Staff Subject to Annual Salary System”.
(2) Discretionary labor system for special work type based on the “Regulations Pertaining to Working Hours, Holidays and Leave for National University Corporation Shimane University Staff”.
(3) Successful candidate will join National Public Service Personnel Mutual Aid Associations, Employment insurance, and Workers’ Accident Compensation Insurance.

9. Qualifications: 
(1) Those possess a doctorate degree or an expected doctorate degree in the relevant specialized field; adequate research achievement or practical experience in accordance with the experience in the field of building structure.
(2) Those have experiences in specialized fields such as building structural materials (timber, concrete, etc.), timber structure, reinforced concrete structure, etc. are desirable, however those in other fields of building structure (steel structure, building vibration, structural analysis, etc.) are also eligible to apply.
(3) Those are motivated to participate in the community-based architectural education and projects.

(3) Research achievement list divided into (a) peer-reviewed papers, (b) non-peer-reviewed papers, (c) book or chapters, (d) reviews, (e) proceedings in international conference (classification of with or without peer review), (f) invited lectures in international conference, (g) patents, architectural works (if listed, classification of with or without prize) (h) academic awards, (i) research grants awarded as a principal investigator and (j) others.
(4) Offprints or copies of two representative academic publications (peer-reviewed) and each publication’s abstracts (up to 500 words for each paper).
(5) Grant-in-Aids for Scientific Research, record of research grant acquisition (clearly stating whether it is representative or shared person), collaborative research achievements.
(6) Summary of conducted research and research plan after being recruited (within 1,000 words in total).
(7) Aspirations on research and education being recruited (within 1,000 words).

(2) Second screening:
Trial lecture (in Japanese), research presentation (in English or Japanese), interview (in Japanese)
The details of the interview will be informed to the applicants who passed the first screening. We do not support any expenses for travel and accommodation of the applicant to participate the interview. The interview for the residents outside Japan may be done on internet.
