Prof. Masanori NagamatsuEducation Division on Disaster Reduction (Head: Prof. Hiroaki Ishiga) Members: Prof. Ichiro Matsumoto, etc.Research Fellow: Professors Emeritus Yoshihiro Sawada, Masahisa Hayashi, Shuichiro Yokota 　山陰地域における地震・津波・火山災害，気象・洪水災害，斜面・地盤災害等のデータベースを作成し，それらの地域特性を解明するとともに，効果的な防災・減災方法を検討します。また，それらと並行して自然災害と防災にかかわる教育を留学生も含めて実施し，防災にかかわる国際的な人材育成につとめます。成果は学術論文等のほか，HPおよび市民向けのフォーラム・見学会等により公表します。　The main activities of the center are to study the local natural disasters including that caused by earthquake, Tsunami, volcano, fl ooding and landslide for the eff ective countermeasures to prevent and reduce the natural disasters, and to make a database for future references. At the same time, education in disaster reduction is conducted for students and local citizens, in order to foster personnel concerning to the disaster reduction. Results are published in journal articles, website, and included in the symposium for the local citizens.平成28年度は，下記の教育・研究・アウトリーチ活動を行いました。1) 全学教育科目「山陰地域の自然災害」を開講しました。2) 春・秋に「山陰防災フォーラム」講演会・現地討論会を開催3) 中国・成都で開催された第14回減災国際会議を共催しました。4) 国際学術ジャーナル「Geoenvironmental Disaster」の編5) 国土交通省中国地方整備局の委託を受けて，山陰道沿い切土斜面の安定性評価，そして，宍道湖堤防沈下原因調査を実施しました。6) しまね大交流会2016に出展し，ベストブース賞を獲得しま　本センターにおける研究活動によって，山陰地域のインフラ整備・点検，防災分野における早期予測技術開発への応用が期待できます。宍道湖堤防計測Project Center on Natural Disaster Reduction自然災害軽減プロジェクトセンター
